After more than half a century of research in the field of immunology and endocrinology, the knowledge about the impact of hormonal imbalance on ageing has increased at an exponential rate.

Hormones are molecules synthesised and secreted by specialised cells, which are generally located in the endocrine glands. They are released into the bloodstream and produce biochemical effects in the cells. Hormones serve as central nervous system messengers, ordering our internal organs how to work.

Estrogen, testosterone, thyroid hormones, DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone), cortisol, insulin, melatonin… all of them have their specific functions and many of them interact in a synergic way.

The effect of diseases related to age is mostly controlled by our immune and endocrine systems, both responsible for the adaptation and changes in our body when referring to the aging process.

Hormonal decline
  • DHEA
  • Testosterona
  • Estrogeno-y-progesterona
  • Melatonina

Once the process of growth and maturation of the individual is finalized, a slow and progressive decline of the body starts, which increases from the late thirties.

Some of our hormones start to decrease soon, in the twenties, like DHEA, while others will do so later. In the forties, many of these hormones show significant lower plasma levels compared to those of the same person when he is twenty years old. The hormonal ageing theory is based on these phenomena.

Hormone Replacement Therapy Therapy is to correct all these imbalances produced by ageing processes, providing vitality, wellness and energy lost as a consequence of it to the body and acting directly on many of the causes of diseases related to age.
